Welcome back Mr Mojo :-)

It's been ages since I made a card - but having bought a copy of Creative Stamping with the fab free stamps, and seen this image coloured by the talented Liz McGuire from Buttons for Brains I felt inspired to create this card, which is earmarked for my niece's birthday :)  I did pretty much replicate Liz's colouring as I liked hers so much.

I stamped the image in Versamark ink, and embossed with clear embossing powder. I coloured in using my Promarkers, and added a gemstone in the centre of the large flower, and some stickles in the centre of the smaller flowers. I stamped the sentiment at an angle, just for a change.  Ta dah!

I've got a feeling I'll now be joining the rank of the Procraftinators, and tedious household stuff will be taking a back seat!

Buttons, string, felt......

Just been exploring this wonderful online shop, which Lucy from Attic24 had mentioned in her latest blog post.  Oh my!  Not just buttons, but lovely fabrics, felt, ribbon, twine and various other crafty bits.

I do confess to being a buttonoholic :)  As a child I loved my mum's button tin (which I still have), and that's where my obsession with buttons first started!  I seem to have quite a collection now - occasionally I'll incorporate them in cards (if I can bear to part with them lol) and can never resist adding to my collection.

Do also visit one of my favourite blogs, Buttons for brains  I share Liz's passion for buttons, and she is a very talented card designer and maker.

Have a great weekend, wherever you are :)

PS Went to a craft and vintage fair today-simply could not resist these little buttons :-)

A home without a cat.....

..... is just a house

Very true words, I'm lucky to have my little cat, Tiny. This little wall hanging arrived a few days ago from an online crafting friend :-). Thank you again Liz.

No crafting to share as yet-playing with my watercolour pencils and paints, and practising various techniques. I get as much pleasure from that as actually making cards or wallhangings or whatever. I can lose myself! I've used pro markers and copics for years for my colouring, but seem to be getting more and more interested in watercolouring. My late mum was a very talented artist, and I have some of her paintings on the walls in my home, and enjoy looking at them every day. I also have all her brushes and various other arty farty things, and enjoy using them. She took up painting once she had retired-it had always been her dream to go to art school, but growing up during wartime it just wasn't possible. I'm just finding it strange that I've taken such an interest in it at around the same age she did.

Bit of a nostalgic post, but I can assure you a very happy post. I have such wonderful memories of her :-)

Update

Not a lot of crafting been going on recently. Sometimes life just gets in the way, and this miserable weather in the UK isn't exactly helping the general mood!
Still reading all my favourite blogs, pinning away on Pinterest, waiting for something to really spark my interest and attention. I am sure this will only be temporary-I have been paper crafting for quite a lot of years now, and it is highly unlikely I will ever give it up. For now, a bit of crochet, and plenty of cuddling. :-)
